Historical  Background:
The Fi-156 was created as a reconnaissance, liaison and air-ambulance aircraft in 1936 by Dr. Gerhard Fieseler. This unique airplane’s legs, struts and windows stuck out everywhere, and its landing gear hung down, looking very much like a long-legged, big-winged bird, so it was given the nickname “Storch” (the German word for stork).
 
Virtually nothing about a Storch is streamlined. It was a purpose-built, short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft which, with a bit of headwind, could become airborne in less than 200 feet, and when its low landing speed was combined with a strong headwind, the Storch appeared to land vertically, and sometimes looked like it was flying backwards.

Comparision description for New Optimization Version:
1. The Rudder serfaces for flap and aileron are modified to hinge connnction. Ensure the overall controllability of the aircraft, and also remain the overall likeness.
2. Changed the carbon tube size of the wing, which not only reduced the weight but also ensured the strength of the wing.
3. Increase the size and lendth of the motor box to accommodate a larger battery, move the motor mounting position forward by 15mm, and place the battery more forward, making it easier to adjust the center of gravity.
4. The carbon fiber square tube at the rear of the fuselage was changed to square paulownia, which solved the problem of carbon material stiffness. Paulownia is more in line with the curve of the fuselage, improving the overall likeness.
5.1. Optimize the decorative screws of te cabin.
5.2. Optimize the shaft exit hole of fiberglass cowling, change the circular shape to oval shape, which can adapt to more different power systems.
6.1. The servo mounting position is expanded by 1mm to fit more kinds of servos.
6.2. Optimize the carving details of the elevator and horizonal rudder serfaces.
6.3. Optimize the tolerance of laser engraving of 2 assembly parts.
7. The take-off weight of the new version has been reduced by about 200g to 1.52kg, and it have more flexible flight attitude. After repeated violent flight tests, the overall strength remains unchanged. After optimization, it can take off within a minimum distance of 3 meters  and land within a distance of 10 meters.
